The most wide-spread race across Gaeldren, humans are the most diverse and adaptable of the civilized peoples. They are thought to be the descendants of the seafaring people of the Ao Archipelago, though how they came to be is a mystery.
Humans typically stand from 5 feet to a little over 6 feet tall and weigh from 125 to 250 pounds, with men noticeably taller and heavier than women. Skin and hair colour varies greatly, and is usually dependant on where they are from. The humans of Ao, for example, are tall and gaunt, with tanned skin, dark hair, green, black or brown eyes and beak-like noses. Meanwhile, the men of western Demistra, particularly The Kingdom of Redalia, broader in the shoulder, but slightly less tall and have light hair, fair skin, and sometimes blue eyes. This is thought to be because various human groups have adapted to the Humans have short lifespans. They reach maturity at the age of 18, and rarely live even one century.
Human cultures are as varied as their skin tones. Because of their migratory nature, humans regularly integrate themselves with other races, and often adopt aspects of these other races’ cultures, combining them and creating new, distinct cultures.
Humans worship a variety of deities, Celestials, Infernals, and Greater Extraplanar alike. Some of these are distinct to specific human cultures, but most are common deities.
Humans speak whatever their regional dialect of common is, but often adopt phrases from other languages surrounding them, such as Dwarven military phrases or Orcish curses.
